OffPiste Digital runs offpistedigital.com. This page says what we collect, how we collect it, why, who else sees it, how we look after it, and how to have it removed. If anything here is unclear, write to jay@offpistedigital.com and ask.
What we collect
- Your name and your company. Whatever you type into one of the two forms on this site.
- Your email address and your website. Both forms ask for them, because they are how we reach you and what we look at.
- Your best known ski, and how you heard about us. The audit request form asks for both. The first is optional.
- Two attribution values. Whether you arrived from an AI assistant, and the utm source value in the link you followed, if there was one.
- Your IP address and the pages you request. Our host writes both into its own server logs, as every web host does.
We do not collect payment details. Nothing on this site takes a payment, and paid work is invoiced outside it.
How we collect it
Three ways, and there is no fourth. The audit request form on the free audit page asks for your name, your company name, your website, your email address, optionally your best known ski, and how you heard about us. The gear finder demo form asks for your name, your brand name, your website and your email address. Both collect only what you type into them.
Each form also carries two hidden fields, which the site fills in from the page you arrived on. One records whether that page was an AI assistant, by matching its address against a short list of them. The other records the utm source value in the link you followed. Both tell us which outreach is working, neither identifies you beyond what you typed into the form yourself, and both stay empty if your browser blocks scripts.
This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. The two values above are kept in your browser's session storage, which your browser clears when you close the tab and which no other website can read. The third way is our host's server logs, which record requests for security and for traffic counts.
Why we collect it
To prepare and deliver the audit or the demo you asked for, to reply to you about it, and to understand which of our own outreach brought you here. That is the whole list. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone for their own marketing, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
Who else sees it
Netlify hosts this site and processes both forms on our behalf. Email you send us, and email we send you, passes through our email provider. Those two companies act as our service providers and handle the information only to run the service for us. Nobody else receives it, unless the law requires us to hand it over.
The gear finder demo on this site loads from a separate address we also operate. It asks you for nothing and records nothing about you.
How we protect it
The whole site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into a form is encrypted between your browser and our host. We keep the number of places your information lives deliberately small: our host's form dashboard, and one mailbox. Both are reached through separate accounts, each with its own password, and only the person who runs the business has them. We do not copy submissions into other tools.
No system is perfect, and we would rather say that than imply otherwise. If we ever learn that information you sent us has been exposed, we will tell you.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for as long as we are in touch with you about the work, and for up to two years after the last message between us, so that we can pick a conversation back up. Server logs roll off on our host's own schedule.
Your rights, and how to opt out
Write to jay@offpistedigital.com at any time and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Ask us to stop contacting you and we stop, with no reply needed beyond our confirmation. Every email we send also carries an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you from our list without your having to write to anyone.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, those are rights you already have under the General Data Protection Regulation. We honour them everywhere rather than checking where you live first.
Children
This site sells to businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes get an email to anyone we are already in touch with.
